Before Hireline existed, director Ian Chilcott was already building and fabricating equipment, collecting quality tools, and helping people get jobs done. Over time, mates regularly borrowed tools and machinery for projects, landscaping jobs, and site work.

There was only one issue. The equipment didn’t always come back in the same condition it left. That’s when Ian’s wife, Kira, suggested something simple:

“Instead of lending the gear out… why not hire it out?”

That one idea became the foundation for Hireline. What began with a handful of tools, fabricated log splitters, and practical Kiwi ingenuity slowly grew into a fully equipped machinery and tool hire business serving Auckland customers across construction, landscaping, earthmoving, maintenance, and home projects.
